Instructions
Draw Near is an interactive card-based tool designed to spark meaningful conversations about faith, life, and values. It creates a safe and respectful environment where both Christians and non-Christians can share beliefs, ask questions, and explore the Gospel in a relational, non-coercive way.
This deck is not a debate tool or a test of knowledge. It is a companion for authentic connection, deeper reflection, and honest dialogue about our journeys in life and faith.
Structure of the Deck
Each deck has 2 types of cards
Grow Cards:
Designed to encourage reflection, encouragement, and edification. They are best for starting conversations on faith, life, and values. Begin with these cards first.
Know Cards:
Centered on exploring the Gospel message. These cards focus on our human condition, sin, and the need for salvation. They may also be used to reaffirm or deepen understanding of Biblical truths.
Each card has 3 parts
Prompt - A question or situation to spark discussion.
Reassuring Statement - A gentle reminder to help participants feel safe and understood.
Biblical Truths - Scripture to point back to God’s Word.
How to Use
1. Assign a Facilitator
- Choose a Christian facilitator who is mature in faith and able to guide the discussion with sensitivity.
- The facilitator’s role is to draw the cards, remind participants of the Biblical truths, and ensure everyone has time to share.
2. Begin with Grow Cards
- The facilitator draws one Grow card.
- Go around the circle, allowing each participant to answer the prompt or pass if they prefer.
- Encourage listening and respect for different perspectives.
- You may continue drawing Grow cards for as long as the group is engaged.
3. Move to Know Cards (when ready)
- Once the facilitator senses the group is prepared for deeper Gospel conversations, transition to the Know cards.
- Handle these cards with care, as they may bring feelings of discomfort or challenge.
- Reassure participants that the space is free of judgment, and that they may also choose to pass.
4. Wrap-Up
- Close the session with prayer (optional but recommended).
- Thank everyone for their openness and remind them of the value of honest conversation in growing together.
Guidelines for a Healthy Experience
- Respect each person’s pace and boundaries.
- Practice active listening, seek to understand, not to argue.
- Be mindful of emotional sensitivity, especially during deeper questions.
- Encourage participants that every voice matters, even in silence.
